Priorities:
Education First

1

Student Achievement

My goal is to support a positive and safe learning culture at every school so students can focus on why they attend school: To Learn at High Levels!

This will be done by ensuring

  1. Every student in every school is meeting growth goals,

  2.  All teachers have the materials necessary for students to meet their goals

  3. Each school has the staffing, resources, and other allocations needed for students to be successful in a global society.

2

Communication

I will ensure communication is frequent, transparent, and timely with all stakeholders (parents, teachers, students, administration, and others in the community).

Communication that is transparent and timely is the backbone upon which family engagement, student success and community support are built.

Fiscal Responsibility

I will support spending on students to ensure that children can excel in education. I will ensure teachers and students work under appropriate working conditions, have the materials and supports needed for an equitable education, and students have access to arts, music, PE, library, technology, and other special curriculum programs.  Simply the public funds for education are too far away from the children.

We must be good stewards of public education dollars and utilize them to drive student success.

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character-- that is the goal of true education." ~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
